Field Day - Tuesday - May 22

Updated 5-14-07

Parents,

Thank you for all you've done this year as volunteers.  Our Rancher Relays Field Day will be on Tuesday, May 22nd.

If you can help out, please just look for your child's teacher and sign up for one of the 30 minute times that we need you to help.  If everything is full with your child's class, then please feel free to just come and fill in where there is a need to help out. All of the stations will be labeled with numbers and instructions for the games, but the kids have learned all the games , so you might just need to remind them of what to do. There will be four groups per class, and we will rotate through the entire course of stations. The times for each grade level are as follows:

  • Pre-k, Kinder and 1st - 9:00-10:30

  • 4th and 5th - 10:45- 12:30

  • Pre-k, 2nd and 3rd- 1:00-2:30

Click the schedule links below to access the schedules and to sign up.

Rutledge Elementary Carnival - May 11

Updated 5-11-07

To all parents,

Carnival is TODAY, May 11. We need volunteers to tend to your child's classroom booth from 4:30 p.m. through 8:30 p.m..  Each class will have a different booth.  We suggest 2 people per half-hour; in case someone doesn't show up to help we still have coverage.  Some booths definitely need 2 people.  If you would like to volunteer it would be greatly appreciated!  The first half-hour will be set-up and the last is clean-up.

TAKS Hall Monitors Needed - April 17-19

Updated 4/11/07

We need Hall Monitors for TAKS Testing!   Hall Monitors are very important for the school to meet the guidelines for TAKS testing.   The job involves monitoring the halls for traffic (wandering parents or others who should not be there) and also the bathrooms (no talking, etc.)  The only requirement for Hall Monitors aside from being approved as a Volunteer by LISD is that you cannot have a child taking the TAKS test in the same grade you are monitoring.

We really need your help!  You can cover anywhere from 1/2 hour to the full duration of the testing period.

TAKS VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

February 12, 2007

Rutledge Elementary 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders will be taking the first of their TAKS exams on Tuesday, February 20th.  In order to protect the integrity of the testing process, Hallway Monitors are needed starting at 8 a.m..

At least 2 Volunteers per grade level (3rd-5th) will be needed from 8 a.m. through at least 12:30 p.m.  Volunteers may not monitor the same grade level that their child is in.  If you have a 3rd grade student, you could monitor the 4th or 5th grade hallway only, and if you have a 4th or 5th grade student, you could only help monitor the 3rd grade hallway.

Please e-mail Cathy Odlum at volunteer@rutledgepta.org or call 218-8275 to sign-up to volunteer.

THANKS FOR SUPPORTING OUR TAKS TROOPS!
